This Cookie Policy explains how IBV Gold FZCO ("IBV Gold", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on ibvgold.ae. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal data and your rights in relation to it.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how the site is used. Similar technologies covered by this policy include pixels, tags, and local storage.
2. Your Consent
When you first visit our website, you will be shown a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies, and to manage your preferences by category. Essential cookies, which are necessary for the website to function (for example, to operate the shopping cart and checkout), do not require consent and cannot be switched off. Where you visit our site from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we only set analytics, preference and marketing cookies after you have given your consent, in line with GDPR and applicable ePrivacy rules. UAE-based visitors are given the same choice as a matter of good practice.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential cookies
These are necessary for core website functionality, such as remembering items in your shopping cart, keeping you logged in, and enabling secure checkout. They do not require your consent.
3.2 Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use our site — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where they came from — so we can improve the experience. We currently use Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager.
| Cookie name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes unique users | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_[container-id] | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Persists session state | Up to 2 years |
3.3 Preference cookies
These remember your settings and preferences (for example, currency, language, or previously viewed products) to improve your experience on return visits.
3.4 Marketing cookies
These are used, where you have consented, to track your visit across websites in order to show you relevant advertising, including through Google's remarketing tools referenced in our Privacy Policy.
| Cookie name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ads / Meta Ads | Marketing | Builds an advertising profile to show relevant ads | Up to 2 years |
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third parties when you use our website, such as Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and where enabled, remarketing/advertising). These third parties may use the data collected for their own purposes, in accordance with their own privacy policies. Further information on Google's use of data can be found at their privacy policy and ad settings pages, both referenced in our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing and Disabling Cookies
In addition to using our cookie consent banner, you can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of our website, including your ability to complete a purchase. For general guidance on managing cookies across different browsers, see www.aboutcookies.org. Some browsers also support "Do Not Track" signals; we currently do not respond to these signals differently, as there is no common industry standard for interpreting them.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and where required we will ask for renewed consent.
